Student Assistance Program

The Riverton Elementary SAP team helps identify and intervene with students who are experiencing difficulty being successful in school.  Social, emotional and other concerns often preoccupy students, making it difficult for them to learn.  Our SAP encourages a climate of concern, confidentiality, and help for students within the school environment.  Students are connected to existing services for academic, social or emotional needs so he or she can overcome problems being successful in school.  Currently, the services available include various academic interventions, social skills support groups, anger management/self-control support groups, self-esteem support groups, Study Skills focus group, organizational skills focus group, divorce support groups (parent referral only),  grief support groups (parent referral only), and high school/adult mentoring program.  If you would like to refer your child for any of our SAP services, or should you have any questions or concerns, please call Terri Grieve, Student Assistance Coordinator, at 629-6001.  The Student Assistance Program can help students overcome barriers to success!
